Ride Connection/ Technology and Innovation Strategy Planning & Implementation
The Ride Connection Technology and Innovation Strategy Planning & Implementation project, conducted between 2022 and 2023, was a transformative initiative to improve transportation accessibility and equity for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those who speak different languages or have disabilities.
As the Project Manager and Engagement Lead, my primary responsibilities involved assembling a steering committee comprising experts and stakeholders from various fields. This committee was responsible for guiding the planning and implementation of innovative technology solutions designed to enhance the mobility experience for all users, regardless of their unique needs and circumstances.
To ensure inclusive and effective engagement, our team brought in translators and accessibility experts to facilitate meetings and gather valuable insights from community members. These efforts helped to create a comprehensive understanding of the diverse needs of the population and informed the development of technology strategies that were both equitable and effective.
The project received funding from the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (NADTC) through their Equity and Mobility program grant. This support enabled the successful execution of the Technology and Innovation Strategy initiative, which has significantly impacted the accessibility and inclusiveness of transportation services within the Ride Connection network.
The successful completion of the Ride Connection Technology and Innovation Strategy Planning & Implementation project has led to a more accessible and equitable transportation experience for users from all walks of life. By leveraging innovative technologies and fostering strong community engagement, this project has impacted the quality of life for people with diverse needs and abilities, contributing to a more inclusive and resilient transportation network.
